I CAN Network is driving a rethink of autism, from ‘I Can’t’ to ‘I CAN’, mentoring the ‘awe’ in AWEtism through education, advocacy and providing opportunities. I CAN Network builds networks across schools, universities, TAFEs, communities, businesses and governments, and is Australia’s first social enterprise founded by people with autism.
The last 12 months have seen continued growth and development of ICan as an organisation. Funding provided by Newsboys and SVP has enabled ICan to employ a full time Central Network Operations Officer who has successfully taken over the day to day running of a number of areas for ICan and that has allowed the CEO, Chris Varney, to focus on the overall growth and sustainability of the organisation. ICan now have 10 senior management staff and a well-developed suite of services to the Autistic community that are passionately delivered and received.
ICan has just celebrated their 5th year anniversary in September. The organisation has reached this milestone through the passionate commitment of its Founders, Board, Staff, Newsboys Foundation and SVPM. Thanks to all the partners who are assisting, David Legge, John Craven, Wayne Saunders, Anne Warner and David Green.
