Ocean Mind

Ocean Mind’s in-water activities (surf therapy programs, surf club) wrap up this month for winter, restarting in September.

During the winter hiatus, CEO Rachael Parker and her Board will concentrate on further developing Ocean Mind’s strategy and implementation plans for increasing its impact and sustainability. Social Venture Partners Melbourne will support that work through an annual capacity building grant to Ocean Mind over the next three years (FY22–24) and the engagement of partners in agreed capacity building opportunities.

Currently, SVPM (through its partners Margi Olson, with Georgina Cohen and Johanne Sergeant) is supporting an Ocean Mind Board member improve the Board’s approach to stakeholder engagement. The project is oriented around the Australian Institute of Company Directors Not-for-Profit Governance Principles |

Principle 8 — Stakeholder Engagement, with its initial focus being on establishing supporting practice 8.1 (see following graphic). Once that’s done the focus will shift to 8.2 and 8.4
